Tata Sierre EV RWO And AWD Launch in 2026

The Sierra EV will come before the ICE-powered Sierra with AWD and all-wheel drive.

The ICE-powered Tata Sierra SUV was recently launched in a front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration, with prices starting at Rs 11.49 lakh. On the sidelines of the event, the company's chief commercial officer, Vivek Srivatsa, told Autocar India that the Sierra EV will be available in both RWD and AWD options when it launches in 2026, unlike the Sierra ICE model, which will get an AWD variant in 202

    2. Sierra EV with AWD launch expected in 2026

1. Tata Sierra full price list to be released by early December 2025

While Tata Motors has announced the starting price of the reborn Sierra, it seems that the full price list will be revealed in the first week of next month. Alongside the launch of the new Sierra, Tata Motors Chief Commercial Officer Vivek Srivatsa said, "We want to be sure about our ramp-up capabilities. And based on that, we will reveal the prices of a few variants by the first week of December."

2. Tata Sierra EV: RWD and AWD launch together

Like the Harrier EV, both drive layouts are expected to be available at launch.

The Sierra EV is built on the company's acti.ev+ platform, and Tata says it features a multi-layer skateboard design that enables all-wheel drive, fast charging and advanced driver assistance systems. The Harrier EV is the first Tata model built on this platform to come with rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) dual-drive setups

Sanand manufacturing facility to launch both Sierra ICE and EV

Srivatsa also told Autocar India that the Sierra EV will be launched from the manufacturer's Sanand manufacturing facility alongside the Sierra ICE, as is the case with the Nexon and Curv nameplates. The plant's capacity could be increased to manufacture the Sierra ICE model, which could be further expanded to accommodate EVs.

It is worth noting that Tata Motors acquired the Sanand plant from Ford India in January 2023. Currently, its annual production capacity is 3 lakh units, and at the time of its launch, it was said to be scalable to 4.2 lakh units.

3. Tata Sierra EV: Options

Office information is likely unknown but the CurvvEV and Harrier EV will share battery options.

While Tata Motors has not yet revealed the exact powertrain of the Sierra EV, it is expected to borrow the top-spec 55 kWh battery pack from the Curve EV and the lower-spec 65 kWh battery pack from the Harrier EV. Notably, the Curve EV's 55 kWh battery is paired with a 167 hp front-axle-mounted electric motor, while the Harrier EV's 65 kWh unit is paired with a 238 hp rear-axle-mounted motor.

Like the ICE-powered models, the Sierra EV will be priced between the Curve EV (Rs 17.49 lakh-21.99 lakh) and the Harrier EV (Rs 21.49 lakh-29.48 lakh).
